Presenting Mrs. Simmons

I am a National Board Certified Teacher with 33 years of teaching experience in public schools of this area. I earned my undergraduate degree from Clemson University in Elementary/ Early Childhood Education. I also have a Master’s Plus 30 hours and a title of “Master Science” teacher from USC Upstate. At Converse, I received my Gifted and Talented endorsement, and for the previous 18 years I've had the opportunity to teach gifted and talented children. I am looking forward to teaching the Challenge Program at Welcome Elementary for the 2018-2019 school year.

Greer is my hometown, and my entire extended family lives in Greer. I live with my husband, Tommy, who recently retired and is a volunteer coach for Greer's middle school football team. . We enjoy traveling, playing with our cat Potato, and researching our ancestry. Our youngest son, Patrick is 24 and lives in Greer. My oldest son, Thomas, and his wife, Julia, also live in Greer. This school year will be my second year teaching in Greenville County. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to teach the students at Welcome Elementary.
