About Me

Hello,

My name is Mrs. McKay! I am excited to teach P.E. This is my third year teaching P.E.

P.E will give you the tools you need to manage your mental and physical health for years to come as well as teach you key social skills. I love helping students find out what they did not know they loved. I want each student to walk away this year with an activity they enjoy doing that they can take with them into adulthood/life. I know all students can learn and grow, and I am here to help students live their best life. I work with Bike Club here at NWMS and help mentor our program where students can engage in physical activity after school by riding bikes.

I grew up in Greenwood, SC and I went to North Greenville University where I obtained my bachelor's degree. I then moved to Columbia, SC where I obtained my Master’s degree in Physical Education from the University of South Carolina. During those times I worked as a Kindergarten Teaching Assistant as well as the director for an after school program at a small private school. I pull for the Clemson Tigers! I have been married for five years and I personally love tennis, dance, lifting weights, hiking, and snow skiing. I have a sweet little dog named Goldie who loves to go on walks and eats everything in sight. I hope each student has a great time in P.E. and comes ready to work hard. It will be a great semester!
