Steel Drums

During the 2021-2022 School year the Greenbrier Music Department added a class set of Steel Drums. Partial Funding for this project was made possible through the Public Education Partners Building Steam grant. Additional Funding was provided through additional grants and fundraisers for the music program.

Students in Fourth and Fifth grade learn about mallet techniques, care of the instruments, how the instrument in manufactured, where the instrument originated and the science behind tuning steel drums. In addition students learn to play a variety of warm ups, scales and songs from the islands of the Caribbean.
