POSITIVE GROWTH MINDSET + GRIT = IB LEARNER PROFILE

As part of the Greer High School and IB emphasis this year, we are implementing aspects of the Growth Mindset based on the studies of Dr. Carol Dweck. In 1988, Dr. Dweck first presented a research-based model to show the impact of mindsets. She showed how a person’s mindset sets the stage for either success or failure in performance and learning throughout life.

In order to help students develop a positive mindset, Greer High School is emphasizing the importance of :

GRIT - sustained perseverance even when faced with obstacles.

It is the goal that IB will help to develop students that exemplify the characteristics of the IB Learner Profile.
