Empty Bowls Soup Night

EMPTY BOWLS SOUP NIGHT Monday, February 24th, 2020, 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.

What is Soup Night?

Empty Bowls Soup Night is/was a community service project that is done during our students fourth grade school year.   This project raises money for local charities that help feed and clothe the homeless or less-fortunate in our community.  Each year, the fourth grade students at Duncan Chapel Elementary create clay bowls for the project.  Students donate the bowls to the program to help raise money (usually ten dollars).  In addition to our student contributions, we also solicit pottery from local artists and potters  to help with EBSN.  We serve a simple meal of soup, bread and dessert that is typically donated by local businesses and volunteers.  We also have local musicians perform during EBSN.

Through this program, we hope to instill a sense of service in our students.  We feel that the EBSN program teaches our students that through good deeds and service, we can make our community a better place.
