Bag Lunches Program

Volunteers NEEDED!

We want to start the Bag Lunches Program again but we can't do it without volunteer support. We had to stop making sandwiches at the school in March of 2020 due to Covid-19 for the first time in over 20 years. We would love to begin making sandwiches at the school again but we desperately need volunteers for this to happen. If you are interested in helping, please email me at bmorgan@greenville.k12.sc.us or call me at 864-355-2753.

About the PROGRAM!

This program has been around for over 20 years now and is a cornerstone of Duncan Chapel's commitment to helping and serving in our community. We had to stop making sandwiches at the school due to Covid-restrictions.

Duncan Chapel Elementary and Reedy River Baptist Church are teaming up once again to prepare bag lunches for the homeless. Around 25 students, along with parents and volunteers, prepare 180 bag lunches a week for the homeless in the area. Reedy River Baptist Church distributes the bag lunches twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, to the homeless in the Greenville area. We prepare the lunches every Monday after school from 2:15 – 3:00 in the art room. The lunches include: 2 bologna sandwiches, a juice box, crackers, a peppermint, sanitation wipes, mayonnaise, mustard and a note from our students and the church. There are four rotations of 30 students (around 120 students) who participate in this program throughout the school year.
