I have been teaching since August of 2003 and have been at Duncan Chapel since 2006.  I have been the art teacher at Duncan Chapel since 2006 and I was here part-time 2004-2005.  I obtained my BA in Art Education from Berea College (KY), and I received my MA in Learning Disabilities from Furman University.  In 2013, I earned my National Board Certification for Art and renewed my certification for 2023-2028.  I am currently obtianing my Masters+30. I have served on several committees and programs while at Duncan Chapel, most notably, I have several projects that I have implemented or have been supported: the Bag Lunches Program (2006 - current) , Empty Bowls Soup Night (2006-2020) and the DCES Recycling Crew (2008 - 2023).

It's my personal philosophy that our students should leave my art class with a positive art experience. We should view art with open eyes and hearts. Our students should view art as being fun and important to them and their communities. The goal of my art class is to allow the kids an opportunity to experience and appreciate art.
