Study Tips

Study Tip #1 Make connections! Take the information you are studying and think about ways you can make connections to everyday life and experiences you have. Making connections and talking about them can store the information in extra places in your brain. Have fun thinking about ways to connect what you are learning with what you already know.

Study Tip #2 Study every day! How are you using your minutes? Even if you have no homework look over notes, study math facts or have a discussion about what is going to be on your next test. Using a few of your minutes for studying each day can help you remember the information when you need it later. Be mindful about your minutes.

Study Tip #3 Try moving while you study! Jumping rope, walking in place or tossing a ball while you look at and say your math facts or spell your spelling words can make studying more fun. It also stores the information in different places in your brain. Study smarter!

Study Tip #4 Try to find a place to study that is comfortable for you. If possible, there should also be someone nearby to help you, if needed. Remember asking for help is a smart thing to do. It makes you look responsible and may help someone else who has the same question.

Study Tip #5 Study by creating a song with what you are trying to remember... facts make great songs. Use your favorite song as a place to start. Have fun and remember more, more easily.
