Messages from our current Y7's

We understand the thought of moving to a new school can be quite scary, so we thought we'd share with you some messages and advice from our current Year 7's who moved to The Charter School East Dulwich in September 2020.

Dear new Year 7’s,

We all went through a really hard time this year. But even with the pandemic, school still managed to carry on. TCSED is by far the best secondary school there is. There are so many subjects, not just Science, English, Maths. We even have creative arts like music, art & drama.

You can take extra-curricular activities like music lessons and in school teams, like school council and eco team, or enrichment clubs, ranging from football to photography, rugby to jazz club!

Even though you have to study really hard, and complete homework, this school will give you the opportunities to be creative and produce the best work you can.

"Every moment here in The Charter School is great. The teachers are so kind and caring. I’ve learnt to trust them because they are always there." Jamilah - 7C

Dear New Year 7s

I am writing you this letter to tell you about Year 7 and my experiences about it. In the Charter School East Dulwich there are great teachers and amazing staff to help you with your work. You never need to feel confused about the work since the teachers will always help you personally and the whole class as best they can.

You may think Year 7 is really hard and difficult to get through but it really isn't much of a change from primary school. The work only gradually gets harder instead of you getting hard work straight away. Although the work is somewhat harder, you don't really think of it as being hard you think of it more as you learning a lot (especially more than you would in primary school). I hope you enjoy Year 7.

Kind regards

Joseph 7D

"Even though not many people came to Charter from my school, I was able to make friends easily since the other people in Year 7 are very kind."
