Earth 441 - Field Geology Project

No longer regularly offered.Field Geology Project (Earth 441, 1 credit) will be offered during the summer of 2015 following Earth 440 and 450. This 1-credit course will consist of an independent field project. Past years have focused on LiDAR technology; this year we anticipate a paleontology and paleobotany focus. The course will follow immediately after, and require enrollment in, Earth 440 or Earth 450. This course provides an extra credit for guest students who have a 6-credit field course requirement, and counts towards upper-level elective credits required for U-M majors in Earth and Environmental Sciences. Preliminary dates for 2015 are August 10 - 17.

Earth 441 is open to students from all universities who need to complete a summer field course as part of their degree requirements, but only to those students also enrolled in Earth 440 or 450. Financial aid is potentially available to all students. To learn more about this course, check out the course website.

If you are interested in taking this course, please submit an application and deposit to Chris Malvica as soon as possible. A deposit will be required by early January 2015 to reserve your space in the course. Course fees are due on May 1 to maintain your space in the course. Tuition will be billed by the University in June.
