Just for general knowledge:
The YAC campground is owned by the city. To register for a campsite, you have to go in person to the Parks office at 2125 Inspiration Pt Way in Balboa Park. You must have $61 per night and name, address and phone number of all adults that will be camping. And there can be no more than 1 adult for every 5 kids.
You can ask about availability before registering, but you don't have a reservation until you register.
