Morphyry Card Game

These are the rules for the Morphyry Customizable Card Game (CCG) based on the Morphyry Fantasy Story System.  The game is designed to be played between two or more players, each using a deck of 60 cards, from the Morphyry Card Set.  In addition to the cards, players will need tokens to represent their Morphyry characters - these can be any kind of marker with a distinctive facing direction (such as the cap of a pen) but Role-Playing miniatures are ideal. The Game

You are the spirit of an adventurer who has achieved both fame and notoriety for your exploits on Morphyry.  Your life has ended and your eternal soul stands in the Atrium of the Halls of the Gods awaiting judgement.  The God of Valour, Khourn, recognizes your mettle and advocates you taking your place in the Aerius of Champions, to live eternally.  However the God of Justice, Amarius, finds that you have on occasion, blotted your copy book...The Gods reach an agreement, and you find your soul cast back down to Morphyry.  The gods have charged you that you must take an Avatar, you must assume control of the body of whichever adventurer you find, and make the best of their attributes.  To satisfy Amarius and Khourn you must survive a battle in the ruins of a temple reputed to contain much treasure.

There will be others there seeking the treasure and the fame: Warriors and perhaps Wizards.  If you can defeat them, any treasure you accumulate will pass to your avatar for your greater glory in the eyes of the Gods, and you will ascend to the Aerius of Champions.  If not, well - to a hero such as yourself - that would be unthinkable.

So you set off.  And then as you begin to explore the ruins with your new body, you find the Gods have sent others such as yourself, and the battle might be fiercer than you thought, much fiercer...
