Mid Wales, August 2009

A wet start, OK middle and wet end to this bank holiday camping meet in Mid Wales.

Most people arrived on the Friday and tents were erected in the brief periods between the strong gusts of wind and heavy downpours of rain.

Saturday promised to have the best weather so saw a mix of activities including climbing in the Moelwyns, walking on Plynlimon and waterfall hunting at Dolgoch.

Sunday started wet and got wetter. The mountain bikers did a soggy but enjoyable circuit of the Nant-yr-Arian Syfydrin Trail and the walkers did a low level walk from the campsite. In the evening we had an excellent group meal at the Wynnstay Hotel in Machynlleth.

Monday looked set for even worse weather so we struck camp early and headed home. Bright sunshine greeted most once they were back in England - typical! At least it gave us a chance to dry out our tents when we got home.
