What is Title I?

Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) provides financial assistance to states and school districts to meet the needs of educationally at-risk students. The goal of Title I is to provide extra instructional services and activities which support students identified as at risk of failing to meet the state’s challenging performance standards, most specifically in math or English/language-arts.

GLIS soccer program was created through the initiative of some parents from the Greater Lansing Islamic community, and through the support received from the GLIS school for a couple of years now. We had two teams (U8 and U10) were participating in the youth soccer leagues organized by the Lansing Soccer Zone in two successive seasons. The professional coaching team makes the little children love and passionate about the soccer games, and the practice sessions are planned to be organized, challenging, enjoyable, and in game-like activities. Parents would notice, in a short period of time, a great individual development on their kids’ soccer skills, physical and mental fitness as well as leadership and teamworking capabilities.
