Chapter 6 - Thermochemistry
VODCASTS:
Thermo Practice Worksheet #2, Problem #2
(YouTube Link) - We often go over this in class at some point on the board as well. It's a good representation of a calorimeter problem that uses the calorimeter and the water and an enthalpy calculation.
State Function Videos: Go with Day 2 of the Notes for this chapter
Crash Course Videos that can be pretty helpful this unit too: Most of the content in these relates strongly to this chapter. Anything that is not included in what we studied you would not be responsible for.
Crash Course: Entropy
(YouTube Link) - I will point out there is an ERROR in this video but since it's from 2013 I do not think they are going to fix it at this point. At about 7:20 they pop up a slide with "Standard State" conditions and they appear to have a few typos. Standard state for thermo IS 25 degrees Celsius like they say but then that would be 298.15 K after converting (it appears they typed a 7 when then meant a 9). Also we know standard pressure is 1atm, which is true at standard state as well BUT they appear to have mistyped again and they missed a 1 in the kPa version, it should read 101.325 kPa. And I just have to say I am super proud of myself to have found a errors in a Crash Course video. :)
Other Resources:
Water Heating Curve Simulation - this shows water during phase and temperature changes that shows where on the heating curve the water is as well as particle diagrams of what the molecules look like and how they are moving at that point.
Heat of Formation Concept Builder - all three levels of this are good practice for this chapter
