Guidelines for Weekly Progress Reports
Weekly Progress Reports (see sidebar), the Gantt chart, and this Project Management page should be printed out before meetings with the sponsor and instructor.
All team members should be able to explain all items on the progress report.
Place a "*" at the beginning of the title of the active week Progress Report (see * in sidebar).
Project Objectives
Concisely list and prioritize the project objectives and constraints
High Priority Objectives
Design and realize an electronics system to control pressure between channels
Second Priority Objectives
Develop a reliable, cost effective product
Other Constraints and Issues
Must fit in an incubator, be modular, user friendly, and easy to clean/sterilize
WOW Design Solution
A final product with 10-12 channels that studies the entire range of pressures we are interested in over evenly spaced intervals. Should be robust and easy to operate.
Risk Reduction Strategy
Theoretically and experimentally determine pressure drops and coupling effects of the channels in a four channel system
Determine relationship between loss coefficient and tube length to find optimal design solution
Intermediate Milestones
Design and fabricate four channel prototype for testing
Design electronics system that can control valves and pressure sensors
Determine optimal design solution for final product that meets design requirements
Fabricate final channel design
Combine channels and electronics
Test and tune final product
