Here are some suggestions for your new third graders to do over the summer!
Read "Note to parents"on our LA LECTURE site
Read "Homework FAQs" page
Read "Homework in Third Grade" document and visit our English Language Arts site
Look over our Parent and Student Links (in the sidebar) and take our Parent Survey.
Get to know all about Third Grade by reading our Third Grade Handbook.
(1) Reread favorite poems.
(2) Visit the Edina and/or Southdale Libraries.
(3) Read French electronic books on-line.
(4) Review high frequency words (Mots fréquents).
(5) Summer Success Center moodle course (See your 2nd grade teacher’s email for login information OR contact Laura Hanson if you cannot log in.)
(1) Review numbers with the Name that Number PowerPoint.
(2) Review math facts.
Addition: 30 problems in 1 1/2 minutes;
Subtraction: 30 problems in 2 minutes;
Multiplication: 30 problems in 2 minutes;
Division: 30 problems in 3 minutes.
(3) Have fun! Play math games that use math: Triominos, Uno, Yahtzee, Farkle, etc.
