Ready to get started?Aim of the courseThe Science of Mining is a very relevant element in the training of the mining life cycle. Designed for both experienced and new mining industry personnel, you will be immersed in the mining value chain followed by more detailed study of 4 pillars of Mining.
Course StructureZSM is offering this MOOC to enable participants to learn the theory behind running a successful mine efficiently and responsibly. This course will provide an opportunity for participants to examine the technical aspects of mining, focusing on gold mining and discovering the issues that affect the operation of a mining project. The course together with course material will be offered at no cost however, participants requiring a Certificate can request for one at a cost of US$50.
The course syllabus is divided into four modules:
Module 1: Fundamentals of Mineral Resource and Reserve EvaluationModule 2: Fundamentals of Mining MethodsModule 3: Introduction to Mining GeomechanicsModule 4: Introduction to Mine Water Management
