Why should I choose Zion Lutheran School for my child’s education?

The gift of education is priceless. It affects every aspect of your child’s life. The investment you make at the elementary level influences your child’s life now and in the future.

Academics with a Distinctly Christian Viewpoint- An up-to-date curriculum presents a challenging and comprehensive course of study for our Preschool through Eighth Grade students. Children are taught how to develop and use their God-given abilities and how to strive for excellence in further schooling and adult life. They receive encouragement and instruction to live in service to Christ and others.

Dedicated Faculty and Staff- Not only is our entire faculty certified with the State of Illinois, but they are devoted to instilling a love for learning in the classroom. Children hear the Word of God daily and see the witness of the ZLS staff in word and lifestyle. Using the witness of the staff as a model, children are trained to articulate the Gospel and effectively share it. They learn to lead Christian lives as a witness to their faith.

Family- As our students build relationships with one another and grow as a family, we encourage our parents to also build relationships with one another through fellowship opportunities at ZLS. We often refer to our ZLS students and parents as our ZLS family.

Legacy-Zion Lutheran School has been offering a premier Christian education for Logan County families for over 45 years. It has remained committed to its mission statement to assist families in nurturing children through the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are blessed to see generations of families pass through our school and that legacy is one we strive to continue.

Values, priorities, work ethic, and lifestyle choices are all influenced by elementary education. This foundation can be laid only once, so an elementary school should be chosen wisely.

About Zion Lutheran School

Zion Lutheran School currently serves 70 students in Preschool (age 3) through the Eighth Grade.

Zion Lutheran School is a ministry operated by Zion Lutheran Church. All families pay tuition. Zion Lutheran Church generously subsidizes each student, contributing to pay for expenses that tuition doesn’t cover. Tuition assistance is available for K-8 families, based on need and available funds.

Just as Jesus welcomes you to come to Him, we welcome you to come and be a part of the family of Christ at ZLS. ZLS is open to families of all religious backgrounds. The Zion Lutheran School non-discriminatory policy is as follows:

Zion Lutheran School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
