Class overview
Year 12 English class explores a range of literature and texts from around the globe to examine the various impacts the current social dynamics have on issues conflicting our society for some time now. Critical exploration of themes such as gender inequality, social class hierarchy, good vs evil, racism and discrimination, and the value of women across time guides our in depth discussions and debates on how the society today discourages or empowers these concepts in different ways.
Students are given opportunities to choose the topic of their interest and with the scaffolding of their teacher, express their perspective and the development of their hypothesis over the duration of the internals.
Students embark on a journey scrutinizing not only the texts through the connections of self, other texts and wider world, but also by comparing the ideologies with the Islamic perspective.
