Instructions to install the mail room copier as a printer on your computer
RICOH Aficio MP 2554
Go to Settings
Click on Bluetooth & Devices
Click on Printers & Scanners
Click on Add device
Windows will search for the printer but it won't find it. Click on Add manually
In the box that appears, click on Add a printer using an IP address or hostname, then click Next
In the boxes, provide the following information:
Device type: TCP/IP Device
Hostname or IP address: 10.2.2.15
Port name: (this should auto-fill with the IP address you just entered above, if not, manually type in 10.2.2.15)
Check the box that says Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use
Click Next
Next, you need to select the proper driver for the printer, but Windows doesn't have it yet. Click on Windows Update so Windows can download a list of drivers to select from. This will take a few minutes, so, go to the bathroom, make yourself a cup of coffee, whatever you feel like to do as you wait the few minutes for the list to appear.
Once the list shows up, in the left column, scroll down and select Ricoh
Next, in the right column, scroll down and select Ricoh Aficio MP 2550 PCL
Click Next
Next, you can change the name to whatever you want to help you know what printer it is in your printer list
Click Next
Windows will now install the printer on your computer
When that is done, in the next window that shows up, click on Do not share this printer, and then click Next
Click Finish
Now you have the copier installed as a printer on your computer.
Open System Settings
Click on Printers & Scanners
At the lower-right side, click Add Printer, Scanner or Fax...
In the upper part of the window that pops up, click where it says IP
In the boxes, provide the following information:
Address: 10.2.2.15
Protocol: Line Printer Daemon - LPD
Que: (leave blank)
Name: (you can change the name to whatever you want to help you know what printer it is in your printer list)
Location (can be left blank or you can put something in like: Mail Room)
Use: Generic PCL Printer
Click Add
If another box pops up where you can select Duplex Printing Unit, click the button to turn that option on, and then click OK
Your OS will take care of the rest. Now you have the copier installed as a printer on your computer.
