Hi! Nice to meet you!
I have been teaching art at York Suburban Middle School since 2012 and am loving every minute of it! You'll see me taking pictures for our YSMS Yearbook, framing artwork for the art show, and cheering our students on in the audience or sidelines.
As a middle school art teacher, I am passionate about fostering creativity, self-expression, and critical thinking in my students. Art is not just about creating beautiful pieces; it’s about opening minds, building confidence, and encouraging students to explore new ideas. In the art room, students are given the freedom to take risks, experiment, and learn from their mistakes. I believe that making mistakes is an essential part of the creative process and that failure is not something to be feared but embraced as an opportunity for growth.
Through art, students gain more than technical skills—they develop resilience, problem-solving abilities, and the confidence to take on challenges in all areas of life. Art allows students to see the world from different perspectives, to understand diverse cultures, and to communicate in ways that words alone cannot.
