Visit to Poland - Erasmus+
May 9, 2023
From April 24 to 28, 2023. Elementary School with Integrative Branches No. 1 hosted17 students and 9 teachers from five Erasmus+ partner countries. Guests from Latvia, Portugal, Spain, Romania and Bulgaria had the opportunity to participate for several days in workshops organized on the school premises, as well as in numerous attractions and extracurricular excursions aimed at familiarizing guests with Polish culture, historical heritage and architecture. The meeting in Poland was the final, final meeting of the member countries of the ongoing "Be creative, be innovative" project. The April meeting was the conclusion of a three-year project to promote and develop students' skills and competencies in the field of innovative computer technologies as well as language.
Both teachers and students participated in activities using the rich technological facilities that the school boasts: 3D pens,VEX 123 robots, a 3D printer, PHOTON robot races, robot programming classes, word cloud creation and much more. In the meantime, we took trips to the Planetarium in Chorzow, participated in the Geophysics exhibition, visited the Silesian Museum, Krakow with its architectural pearl - Wawel Castle. We were also invited and very pleasantly received by Mrs. Mayor Krystyna Wróbel at the Lêdziny City Hall, and on the last day of the meeting, Rev. Zygmunt Klim showed us around the St. Clement's Church and acquainted the guests with the history of Lêdziny, the parish and the immediate area.
The meeting was held in a very successful atmosphere. Our students established exceptional ties with their peers from abroad, integrating with them also in their free time. Despite the very active and intensive program of the visit, the students were eager to engage in integration outside the school as well. We believe that these three years of the project will result not only in useful knowledge from the exchange of experiences and practices used in the international teaching system, but also, last but not least, in the friendships of our students for years to come.

For the first time on September 24, our students took part in a nationwide event for amateur runners - the 5th Erasmus Run.
We are breaking the Polish record! - is the slogan of the fifth edition of the run, which has become a permanent feature in the calendar of events organized by the National Agency of the Erasmus+ program and the European Solidarity Corps.
The task of our runners was to cover the longest possible distance in 60 minutes.
Two teams fought for the new Polish record, consisting of:
Amelia Gluch, Wiktoria Kapica, Jagoda Oleś, Jasmina Oleś
Michał Gonscz, Paweł Kowalski, Oliwier Miśka, Dawid Klekot
Despite fatigue and autumn weather, the participants rose to the occasion and represented our school with dignity in this nationwide event.
We hope that this event will become a permanent fixture at our school and contribute to the promotion of the idea of Erasmus+ projects as well as increase the number of amateur runners.

In October, Erasmus Days are celebrated in all countries of the European Union. As in many schools also in our school students with teachers actively celebrated #ErasmusDays. #ErasmusDays is an initiative aimed at disseminating the results of projects implemented under the Erasmus+ program.
During this year's #ErasmusDays, the "Be Creative, be innovative" project currently underway at our school was presented. Students participated in a specially prepared program during which they learned about the Erasmus+ Program, took part in the Erasmus Race, solved quizzes, played online games as well as demonstrated their artistic talents by creating posters dedicated to the partner countries of the school Project. The aim of the activities was to familiarize students with the Erasmus+ program, its assumptions, mainstream activities and the number of countries cooperating in the program.

Erasmus+ in class 2c
Waiting for the visit of students from Erasmus+ project countries, the students of Class 2c worked with the project method. The class was divided into groups, and each group was tasked with preparing presentation materials about the selected country whose students would be visiting.
First, each group prepared an oral presentation on the sights, interesting places, the capital, the flag of the country. Then the students proceeded to make a poster about Spain, Portugal, Bulgaria, Romania, Latvia and Poland. Emotions were plentiful, but the most important thing was cooperation in groups and gaining knowledge about such interesting countries.
