Hi, we’re Jamie Gazzano and Breanna Herd, the school counselors behind Your College Game Plan.
Through our years of walking alongside students and families in high school counseling, we continue to see the same challenge again and again: parents want to support their children well, but the college process can feel overwhelming, confusing, and constantly changing.
We started Your College Game Plan because we wanted to give families the resource we wish every parent had: a clear, step-by-step guide for navigating high school, preparing for college, and making confident decisions about life after graduation.
I’m Jamie, and I am passionate about helping families make sense of the college admissions process. I hold a Master’s in Education Counseling along with a Certificate in College Admissions Counseling, and I love helping parents and students understand applications, essays, financial aid, college fit, and the changing admissions landscape. As a parent myself, I know how important it is to feel confident in these decisions, and I enjoy equipping families with practical tools that bring clarity and peace of mind.
I’m Breanna, and I am especially passionate about supporting student-athletes and their families. I bring the perspective of both a school counselor and a former high school student-athlete. I hold a Master’s in Sport and Exercise Psychology, a Master’s in Education Counseling, and I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Learning and Organizational Change. Having been around sports my entire life, I care deeply about helping student-athletes balance academics, athletics, NCAA requirements, mental health, and overall well-being. Like Jamie, I am also a parent, and I understand the desire to see our kids thrive not only in what they accomplish, but in who they are becoming.
Together, we created Your College Game Plan to help families feel less alone and more prepared throughout the high school years. Our membership brings together our experience, resources, and guidance in one place so parents can stay informed, ask better questions, and support their students with confidence.
Our mission is to provide clear, practical, and encouraging college planning support so families can move forward with a game plan that works.
