Who Should Participate: Students interested in learning more about the airport environment and interacting with people. Students should have a friendly attitude, good oral communications skills, basic safety acumen, and the ability to take and give directions. Students will provide their own transportation to and from the airport and may utilize the passenger parking lots free for two hours.
Time Commitment: Students are asked to commit at least 20 hours, in two-hour shifts, over one semester. Students will be responsible for notifying an airport supervisor with the dates and hours they plan to volunteer at least a week in advance of their shift.
Benefits for Students: Ambassadors will receive valuable experience for their resumes and college applications while fulfilling their community service or work study requirements. Participants that provide consistent, friendly service at PGD for at least 20 hours may request a letter of recommendation for a one-year period after concluding their service.
Next Steps: Students interested in applying should complete an basic form (TBD) with contact info, projected graduate date, school, availability. Etc. If there are openings available, the student will be contacted for an orientation meeting and further directions.
