Kristen Dota
School Counselor
Hello everyone! I am Ms. Dota and I will be your School Counselor here at Rayen Early College Middle School! I am so excited to get to know each and every one of you, ensuring that all scholars have excellent educational experiences! I love being a school guidance counselor because I value education and believe that in order to prosper in education every scholar must also be happy and healthy. My mission is to help scholars become the best versions of themselves as they navigate through middle school, find their passion, develop their knowledge and skills, and make plans for the future!
I graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelors in Family Consumer Studies and a Masters in Education specializing in School Counseling. In my free time, I enjoy walking my dog in the park, golfing, kayaking, and hanging out with friends and family. I love listening to music, and enjoying seasonal activities!

Welcome to the RECMS counseling page! I'm Ms. Amy, counselor in training. I am working under Ms. Dota's supervision for the 22-23 school year. I am currently working to earn my master's degree in School Counseling from Youngstown State. I also hold a bachelor's degree in Psychology from YSU.
Supporting our scholars has given me some of the most valuable experiences. I am excited to learn and grow along with them. Upon completing my graduate program, I will be taking what the students and staff of RECMS taught me to a new job in a new school for the 23-24 school year.
I love spending my free time caring for my own mental health. I am an avid video game player and enjoy hiking and arts. I especially love hiking with my dachshund Stevie as far as her little legs can carry her. I am always listening to music. My music taste is really diverse. I'll listen to just about anything other than country.
