Youth Exchange

Rising Sport

18 - 26 June 2024

Castelletto di Cuggiono (Milan), Italy

Host Organization: APS Young Effect Magenta

Dates: 18 - 26 June 2024 (18 and 26 are travel days)

About the project:

Not only is sport and physical activity a basis for personal, social and learning development, but it also motivates social inclusion and integration. Sport and physical activity promote tolerance, solidarity, inclusiveness and many other sporting and European Union (EU) values.

Marginalised and underprivileged groups such as migrants and people at risk of discrimination for example, have the opportunity to interact and integrate with other social groups through sport.

Sport also provides people living with a disability an opportunity to increase their participation in society, showcase their talents and challenge stereotypes.

The social benefits of sport do not always achieve their full potential. Many groups of marginalised people are under-represented amongst sporting professionals, volunteers, and membership of committees and governing bodies. This occurs at all levels, whether local, national, or European.

Rising sport Erasmus+ Youth Exchange aims to:

During the mobility the so-called experiential learning methodology will be used. It includes 5 phases, always starting from the so-called "Experience".

In the ideology of our organization, sport is recognized as one of the tools available for quality integration of social excluded young people, a generator of positive human relations, a creator of positive role models and a facilitator of inter-ethnic bonds.

The pursuit of victory itself is a strong incentive for human behavior and when people of different ethnicities or social context are part of a team and struggle together to win, it creates many strong and healthy friendships that survive even years of prejudice. During the planned mobility, sport will be promoted as a non-formal education tool, which has the power to promote social inclusion and socialisation through equal participation opportunities. In the youth exchange will take part 21 participants from Europe.
