Miss Biros
Written by Jena Morris
This year at Yough High School, there are some new faces. Meet Miss Biros! Math can be very challenging and complicated. Miss Biros is a new special education math teacher who helps kids build skills and confidence and provides extra help when needed. Miss Biros said, "As a Yough graduate, I have built relationships with multiple teachers, and they've all had faith in me to become successful no matter where I go. I want to teach my students to give back to the community and build positive relationships, as my teachers have taught me. I look forward to watching my students grow to become more independent individuals. There are obviously multiple ups and downs, but pushing through them to find what is best for all my students will make a difference. "
Miss Biros is also thankful to have wonderful staff members to guide her and support her with the decisions she makes. Miss Biros is working hard to make sure her students understand material and make sure her students feel comfortable asking questions when needed. She is excited to help students grow, be independent, and make sure her students have the support and resources they need to reach their goals. We are excited to welcome Miss Biros this year! We can't wait to see the positive impact she has on our students and the community. Welcome to Yough, Miss Biros!
Mr. Bernat

Yough High School is excited to welcome Mr. Bernat, the new band director. He is new to the school and seems to be enjoying teaching here. interviewed him about his life and his time here at Yough. In an interview he was asked what inspired him to become a teacher. He said that his father was also a music teacher and that inspired him to pursue a career in teaching music as well. He was also asked what his first impression of our school was on his very first day. Mr. Bernat said, “Everyone was overwhelmingly nice, and I felt welcomed right away, even during my interview.” We are happy to know that he has been shown hospitality and warm welcomes from everyone at Yough. As a band director, Mr. Bernat says that he can get around on most instruments, but his favorite instruments to play are the saxophone and piano. His biggest classroom pet peeve is when students in band have an ego as if they are better than someone else, because that is not what the beauty of musical arts is about. Outside of our school, you can find him spending quality time with his wife and playing video games with his friends. Be sure to say hello to Mr. Bernat when you see him around the school and wish him a great school year!
