I traveled to Mexico for the first time when I was in the 5th grade. During that adventure, I had the opportunity to stay in a home with a wonderful family in Cuernavaca, Mexico. I practiced my limited Spanish with them and also got to know the culture and customs of Mexico a little better. My junior year in high school, I traveled again to a Spanish speaking country, Spain. I fell in love with the capital city Madrid. My sophomore year in college, I returned to Madrid, Spain with a study abroad program. Once again, I lived in a home with a family and had many opportunities to further my Spanish. Since that trip in 1997, I have returned to Spain 7 times and to Mexico 5 times. I have also had the opportunity to visit two more Spanish speaking countries, Costa Rica and Peru. In fact, my husband children and I spent the summer in Costa Rica in 2019.
My travels abroad have definitely enriched my life, brought me an expanded world view and have helped improve my language skills. For these reasons and many more, I have made it a priority to travel with my students to Spanish-speaking countries. In 2005, we toured Spain. In 2012 and 2014, we visited Paris, France and Madrid, Spain. In 2016, 2018 and 2024, we toured Costa Rica. And, in 2022, we adventured in Peru. I have been careful to travel with students with safe, insured, international travel companies. Parents have peace of mind and so do I. I also appreciate that education is the priority on these trips.
In October 2025, we will travel to SPAIN!!! For more information about the trip, please use the following link: www.eftours.com/2692813AU
