I went to Joshua Tree over spring break with my family and couldn't help but document the beauty of the landscape. This was a photo of a beautiful valley right before sunset. I'll be honest, it was freezing cold and on the verge of raining so we didn't stay for sunset but I have lots of photos from right before the sun left the sky.

This is a photo of a small part of The Noah Purifoy Desert Art Museum in Joshua Tree. I liked the dramatic lighting and dilapidated look of the bed especially.

This is another part of the Noah Purifoy Desert Art Museum. I liked the irony in the comfortable placement of the chairs contrasted with the dilapidated quality and cage-like facade.

In this self-directed piece the organic shape of the artwork and the organic movement of the figure create this perfect balance. Usually in photography we focus on the figure so by blurring them out I made the art the subject and that allowed for an arguably more interesting dynamic.
