For full guidelines, deadline information and details on how submission works, see the "Submission Guidelines and Author Information" at the first green button below.
For Papers:
Papers can be literature, visionary, or experimentation pieces- anything to do with your PhD!
Abstracts should be no more than 300 words, clearly outlining the research question, methodology, results, and implications.
For Posters:
Posters should be uploaded as a .pdf in A1 size, portrait or landscape is fine.
Abstracts should be no more than 300 words, clearly outlining the work described within the poster.
For Three Minute Thesis:
You will have three minutes to present your thesis topic!
Presentations should be no longer than one single static PowerPoint slide.
Abstracts should be no more than 300 words, clearly outlining the research.
Submission instructions:
Papers must be written using the IEEE template (links below), and 4-6 pages excluding references. Templates for both posters and the Three Minute Thesis slide are also linked below, but you can choose to use your own, although the templates given do provide extra information on what should be included in your submission.
Submitting an abstract of your submission (of around 100-300 words in plain text) is required in advance of the submission deadlines and you will be asked to provide additional information (such as field of work) at that time. Please do not leave things to the very last moment; you can resubmit any number of times until the submission deadline.
Presentation and Three Minute Thesis slides must be submitted in .ppt or .pptx format. Papers and posters in .pdf.
We welcome submissions from an author for multiple tracks. If you wish to upload to two tracks using the same title for both, then add "- Track_Name" after one of the submissions to allow for submission without error.
Due to numerous requests for extensions and the bank holiday we’ve decided to extend the submission deadline for YISEC 2025. This means that both the abstract and full submission is now due before 11:59pm on Friday 02 May 2025.
If you have any issues meeting the deadlines, contact our conference lead and we can work something out with you!
Also, if you wish to print your own poster, or do a presentation without a paper, let us know!
