This deployment took the Trop-ClOC team to Toronto, Canada. In contrast to Manchester where the first Trop-ClOC WP3 deploytment took place, Toronto is located 1000s of km from the sea. This means the sources of chlorine will likely look very different. However, previous work by collaborators at York University (Toronto) has shown active chlorine chemistry still persists at this mid-continental location. A deployment of the Trop-ClOC instrumentation during the summer of 2023 generated a dataset to investigate the chlorine budget and assess its impact on local and regional atmospheric processes.
