What can the Arts and Humanities contribute to building the kinds of places and communities we want to live, love, work and play in?

This conference showcased a range of contributions from University of York researchers and external partners, with a view to thinking about the ways in which we can develop collaborative research that will help us to build ourselves back as we settle into a rather different world.

The conference culminated with a discussion event that brought together external partners and academics from across all career stages. Key themes included tensions between the virtual and the actual, the global and the local, the challenges of access and inclusion in a mixed digital and in person environment, the crisis in performing arts and their support industries, the need to engage with communities and community partners in ways that are inclusive and sensitive to ethics and power dynamics, and many more.
