Digital technology allows us to perceive people, places, and things that are inaccessible to us. This talk considers the nature and value of 'digitally-enabled sensory experiences', and how they differ from ordinary sensory experiences: when we see a friend face to face, see a place in person, or witness an event first hand. Keith Allen is Deputy Director of the Humanities Research Centre and co-Research Champion for Culture & Communication. He is based in the Philosophy Department.
