Inclusive impact awards 2022

Background

Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) is at the heart of the University of York's University Strategy 2030.

A University for Public Good means that we will actively work to build an environment where our staff and students can work, study and live in a community which fosters a sense of belonging, is reflective of our values, and drives forward an innovative agenda for change.

In early 2022 the University embarked upon a set of eight Transformational Initiatives. These initiatives are designed to help us build on the University's vision and begin to bring our strategy to life.

Key to the 'Building a Diverse Staff and Student Community' Transformational Initiative is the establishment of a new EDI Exchange.

What are the Inclusive Impact Awards?

To kick start the work of the new EDI Exchange we will be hosting the University of York's first Inclusive Impact Awards.

These awards will showcase and celebrate individuals, teams and initiatives that are already advancing purposeful change at York around EDI, from research projects and inclusive education practices to collaborations, partnerships and community-building initiatives.

The Inclusive Impact Awards Ceremony will also serve as a starting point for the EDI Exchange, by allowing us to come together to start the conversations that will shape the future of our work and enable us to deliver on our strategy to create an inclusive university, making EDI everyone’s business.
