Ines performed at York's Vinyl Cafe "Dreams, Games, and Fragile Minds": Why do neurons fail in diseases like Alzheimer’s? I explore how fruit flies help us figure out what goes wrong in neurons, focusing on a rogue protein called GSK3β and why it’s a promising drug target - brought to life through stories and live science parody songs.

This week our lab was closed for heating updates and window repairs, so we left flies, pipettes and cultures behind for some fossil hunting and fish & chips at the Yorkshire coast.

On the 13th, together with Alison Twelvetrees (Sheffield) and Alex Fellows (Cambridge), Ines co-organised the second NeuroBioUK. We welcomed neuronal cell biologists from across the UK - from Bristol to Aberdeen. Thanks to all that made it such a fun and memorable event!
