Our venue is the School of Arts and Creative Technologies, the University of York's creative hub and home to research and teaching of music, theatre, film and television, creative industry management and creative technologies.
York has accommodation options for a range of budgets. Delegates are asked to make arrangements themselves. As well as the ubiquitous hotel and B&B platforms (e.g AirBnB, booking.com, etc), the following sites may be useful:
By train
York is easily accessible by train, with fast connections to London Kings Cross (1h55), Newcastle (1h) and Edinburgh (2h35), via the East Coast Mainline; Liverpool (2h), Manchester (1h40) and Manchester Airport (2h), and Leeds (20m) via the Transpennine service; and Birmingham (2h), Bristol (3h45) and the southwest via the Crosscountry service. Trains to Hull (1h) offer access to ferries to Rotterdam and Zeebrugge.
By road
York can be reached from the M1 motorway via the A64.
By air
York is well-served by nearby regional airports, including Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle and Robin Hood Airport (Doncaster).
The University is spread across two campuses in the village of Heslington, just south-east of the city centre. The School of Arts and Creative Technologies is situated on the newer Heslington East site. The University of York transport pages have more information.
By bus
The east campus is served by regular buses from the city centre, including the U1, U2, U3, U4 and #6 routes. Alight at Campus East Interchange.
By car
Pay and display parking is located at Field Lane and Kimberlow Lane. A number of accessible parking spaces are located next to the School - please contact the organisers for more details.
