We are looking to recruit three Research Assistants for our Brevit project (Breathing behaviour and non-lexical vocalisations in talk-in-interaction) to assist actively in our data collection process at York. RAs will be expected to engage in the following tasks:
Help to recruit participants and to communicate with them once recruited
Manage administrative processes during and after the data collection sessions (consent forms, checklists, appointments)
Help with setting up the experiment (cameras, microphones, breathing belts, tracking software, furniture)
Help with managing the data after collection
You will have:

Ability to work in a small team (essential)
Experience of following experimental protocols closely, setting up audio and video equipment are not essential, but desirable. We welcome applications from PhD and Masters students; please discuss your intention to apply with your supervisor first.
Depending on experience, the appointed RAs may be considered for roles in data management and transcription and annotation later in the project.
The data collection duties are expected to run between June and September. The exact data collection dates and shifts will be arranged according to participant availability, but we will need RAs to collect data between July 6th and August 14th, and then from August 24th to September 4th in the first instance. Training for the experimental set-up will be provided in the second half of June.
You will need to work in person on campus, i.e. remote working is not possible.
The minimum number of hours estimated for the role will be 30.
The rate will be £16.63/hour, plus holiday pay.
