cHELTENHAM bADLANDS - cALEDON, oNTARIO

European settlers cleared the land to establish homesteads and farms. From around 1850-1950, crops such as winter wheat were grown here; oats in summertime when potatoes became scarce due their high price on market days after harvest time had passed since planting them out during vernal equinox season - they're called 'new' because of this phenomenon known by farmers back then (a term still used today). The original stone foundation from one of these old buildings can still be seen at historic orchard site where apples grew abundantly until pestilence decimated entire populations centuries ago leaving only twisted stumps remaining standing testament thereto!

When trees were cut down and fields cultivated in the early days, soil erosion became a problem. The exposed Queenston Shale was quickly dissolved by rainwater to create this unique landscape that is called Cheltenham Badlands because of its resemblance with England's Gloucestershire county near Bristol known for rocky outcrops like cliffs or hillsides crested by standing stones from ancient times when people believed in magic spells instead of modern medicine.

The property is rich with topography, as it contains both badlands and mature forests. The shale has been eroded into a series of hummocks over time since the early 1900s - giving us our current landscape! Approximately 20% or so on this acreage consists off poorly-incised ridges that were formed due to ancient river systems eroding away bedrock behind them; these hillsides are known as "shoveled" surfaces because they look like someone scooped out dirt from one side before dumping what was already there onto an inclined plane at another location farther downstream where rivers meet estuaries.
