Formulation & Delivery System Development
Our laboratory researches the development of various pharmaceutical products and drug delivery systems tailored to specific administration routes. Grounded in the thermodynamic and colloidal stability of biopharmaceuticals, we focus primarily on developing liquid and lyophilized (freeze-dried) formulations.
Lipid Nanoparticle & Lyophilization Technology
We conduct advanced research on lyophilization processes for nucleic acid-loaded lipid nanoparticles (LNPs)—similar to those used in COVID-19 vaccines—to enable stable storage under refrigerated or room-temperature conditions.
Small Molecule Drug Formulation & Translational Research
For synthetic small-molecule drugs, we design human-equivalent formulations by characterising physicochemical and biopharmaceutical properties, evaluating stability and solubility, and extrapolating pharmacokinetic exposure profiles from animal studies.
Pharma 4.0 & AI-Driven Manufacturing Innovation
Aligned with Pharma 4.0 manufacturing innovations, we incorporate Quality by Design (QbD) principles to ensure superior drug quality. We also leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) frameworks to optimise product design and formulation workflows.
