The AI Health Data Lab (AHDL) focused on AI-driven Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS), AI-based Electronic Medical Records (EMR), and predictive modeling, utilizing healthcare data, including both public health and clinical datasets.
Goals
We operates as a “GLOCAL” research lab, integrating both Global Health and Community Health perspectives. The ultimate goal of our lab is to contribute to low-income countries through AI-based predictive research using healthcare data.
Culture
AHDL emphasizes a strong academic and research-oriented culture, centered on publications and research excellence. The supervision structure follows a hierarchical mentoring system consisting of faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate researchers.
Undergraduate Researcher
We recruit twice a year (in March and September), selecting two candidates annually.
Applicants must have completed coursework in machine learning and deep learning, and are expected to have an understanding of healthcare data.
M.S or Ph.D
We are preparing the graduate program curriculum and planning to launch admissions for March 2027.
All Applicants expected:
Self-motivated: A strong interest and passion for research
Background knowledge: Understanding of introductory courses or more advanced courses in Machine Learning
Preferred but not required:
Applicants with prior experience in AI-based healthcare research or programming (e.g., Python, data analysis) are preferred.
Experience with field expereince in low-income countries such as Africa countries
