Our Mission

The Nam lab’s mission is to elucidate the structural and molecular mechanisms underlying the function and regulation of RNA-protein complexes through innovative, flexible, and rigorous research. We aim to integrate our understanding of RNA processes into elucidating mechanisms of human diseases. We fundamentally believe that for our team to succeed we need input from a diverse group of individuals. We welcome the perspectives and contributions of people with differences, including scientific interests and expertise, race, heritage, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, and religion. We find strength in diversity as we learn from each other. Every lab member is expected to be inclusive and included, and all are encouraged to bring their whole selves. We trust that our efforts to create an inclusive culture will lead us to success and make our scientific journey more fulfilling.
