INSPIRATION
THE CUTTLEFISH
The cuttlefish, the chameleon of the sea. Despite being color blind, the cuttlefish has a mesmerizing talent for manipulating its own colors to blend in with the environment or hypnotize its prey. The hundreds of pigmented cells per square millimeter of its skin is what makes this possible.
They are masters of deception and adaptivity. The cuttlefish propels itself quickly through the water by squirting thought a tube and rapidly undulating its skirt-fins around its mantle. Its smooth almond-shaped body also allows it to glide effortlessly through the water.
I was inspired by its otherworldly appearance. I wanted to emulate its unique form through my art.
