The Changemaker Community is a diverse coalition of student groups and multi-year scholarship programs that promote volunteer engagement. They include Impact York, Spartan Service Alliance, Eisenhart Scholars, and Hope Scholars.
YCCOSP and Promise are Student Success Scholarship Programs that also partner with the Changemaker Community.
What are the specific scholarship programs in the Changemaker Community?
Impact York: Recent graduates from York County high schools who give back to the York Community.
Spartan Service Alliance: Spartan Service Alliance students commit to contributing 30 or more hours of community-based service each year.
Eisenhart Community Scholars: The Eisenhart Community Scholars program is rooted in innovation, empathy, and leadership for social change. Eisenhart Scholars are driven to make a meaningful, lasting difference in their communities, and to empower others to do the same. Eisenhart Scholars are also members of the YCP Honors Community.
Hope Scholars: Hope Scholars promote equity through education by leading and participating in initiatives that support underserved populations. Hope Scholars typically serve as leaders and mentors in the Generations of Hope program. Hope Scholars are also members of the YCP Honors Community. Students in the following programs are eligible to apply to be a Hope Scholar: YCCOSP, Promise, Impact York, or Spartan Service Alliance.

Promise: Promise Scholars live and learn together on campus. They give back to the York Community as members of the Changemakers Community.
YCCOSP: The York College Community Opportunity Scholarship Program (YCCOSP) begins as a leadership development and academic success program at William Penn high school and continues at York College. YCCOSP promotes leadership and career development, civic engagement, and academic success.

What are the requirements to maintain my scholarship for my program in the Changemaker Community?
GPA, service hours, FYS requirements, & housing requirements: These requirements will vary by Changemaker program. You can review your program-specific requirements on this fast facts table.
There are also some required documents all Changemakers must submit. These are included in the section below.
What happens if I can't meet the academic requirements of my scholarship program in the Changemaker Community?
At the end of each academic year, the Financial Aid office reviews the cumulative GPA of each student in a service-based scholarship program. They will determine whether the student is meeting the requirements of their program.
If a Changemaker is not meeting the GPA requirements of their respective scholarship program, they will likely be contacted with next steps by a Financial Aid staff member and/or the advisor to the student's scholarship program.

Surveys
There are three surveys that Changemakers are required to complete each year. They will be available through the Changemakers Canvas Course, and Changemakers will be notified prior to the due date of each assessment.

Volunteer Consent & Release Form
Changemakers are required to complete the Volunteer Consent & Release Form at the beginning of each academic year. This is available to review and complete on the Changemakers Canvas course.
Clearances
There are three* standard clearances required for each Changemaker. Clearances must be renewed once every 5 years. If a volunteer does not have any clearances currently on file at York College, they are asked to submit clearances that are less than two years old.
Required clearances include:
Child Abuse History Clearance (CAC)
PA Access to Criminal History (PATCH) background check clearance
FBI fingerprint-based background check (*only applies to Changemakers who have NOT lived in PA for 10+ consecutive years)
Guides for completing and submitting clearances are available on the Changemakers Canvas Course. Completed clearances should be submitted on Canvas before you begin your service hours as a Changemaker.
Submitting required documents
When you are ready to submit a required document as a Changemaker, you can do so on the Changemakers Canvas course. There is a Canvas assignment for each required document through which you can complete a submission.
