The coronavirus pandemic impacted my life as it did so many others throughout the world. I found myself in travel nursing surrounded by the COVID-19 virus whether my patients had the virus or not. I spent time at a trauma center attending to critically ill patients, various medical surgical telemetry units, progressive care units, and the intensive care unit. The experience was valuable because it allowed me to grow as a nurse and gain confidence in my skills and assessments. I found it fulfilling to be able to help others in their time of need.
Prior to becoming a registered nurse, my long-term goal was to continue my education and gain a master's degree. I believe education and clinical expertise is the key to helping my patients improve their health and quality of life. An advanvaced degree in nursing would allow me to be an educator, a clinician, and a coach to serve my patients. During early years of my life, I remember the support and healthcare education I received from nurse practitioners and other healtcare providers that was pivotal in maintaining my family's health. I want an opportunity to give back and impact other lives the way my life was impacted.
