This document contains the course descriptions for all courses in Grades 9 to 12, along with course lists (including course codes). The purpose of this website is to assist students, with the help of their parents and guidance counsellors, in selecting the courses that will put them on the right path to their postsecondary destination. The course descriptions are standard, one-paragraph descriptions that summarize what students will learn in each course. The descriptions are gathered here in a separate section for each discipline.
The high school course planner allows students to complete online course selection and visually plan towards province-specific graduation requirements while instantly discovering their eligibility for every post-secondary pathway in Canada.
To graduate from high school and receive an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) students must:

or
19 compulsory credits + 11 elective credits (high school students starting grade 9 in September 2024 must complete 1 grade 9 or 10 Technological Education course)
🔵 Pass the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) or Ontario Secondary School Literacy Course (OSSLC).

In our Catholic schools we see the opportunity for students to grow in their faith life.
