What Parents Need To Know About Skilled Trades

At Support Ontario Youth, our mission is to raise awareness and provide guidance, resources and expertise to jobseekers, apprentices, employers, and educators to enable successful completion of the skilled trades pathway, leading to fulfilling, life-long careers. 

If you are looking for work in the skilled trades or want to expand your industry knowledge, and you’re 18 or older or have completed high school, Support Ontario Youth’s Tools in the Trades Boot Camp is the perfect place to start. These one-day events allow you to train for FREE and, more importantly, connect with a range of industry professionals. 

CTMA represents, supports and promotes the interests of our industry. Our goal is to be an effective, broad-based, respected organization, representing the Canadian tooling and machining industry, nationally and internationally. 

Construction Training and Apprenticeship Ontario (CTAO) is an online resource for those interested in exploring and pursuing careers in the construction trades. This platform connects individuals with apprenticeship opportunities available through CTAO's extensive network of construction trade union partners across the province.

CAF-FCA is a non-profit organization that connects Canada’s apprenticeship community. Participants work collaboratively to support vibrant and innovative apprenticeship systems and policies with a view to developing a highly skilled, inclusive and mobile skilled trades workforce. Employers, unions, equity-seeking groups, educational institutions and the jurisdictions support CAF-FCA operations through membership. 

A Red Seal endorsement is a seal on your provincial or territorial trade certificate. It shows that you have the knowledge and skills necessary to practice your trade across Canada.

To get the Red Seal endorsement, you need to pass the Red Seal exam.
