Setting goals and having an "action plan" for yourself is an important step to making a successful transition to high school and to life beyond. A goal has a much better chance of being accomplished when it is a SMART goal.
S = Specific: What is it that you want to accomplish. Be specific.
M = Measurable: How will you know when you've accomplished your goal?
A = Attainable: Do you have the ability to make your goal a reality?
R = Realistic: The goal needs to be realistic for you and where you are - is it do-able?
T = Timely: How long will each step/the entire journey take?
