Canadian and World Studies

Photojournalist Guest Speaker

On October 9th, award-winning photojournalist Louie Palu visited St. Robert to talk about his most recent work covering military operations in the Arctic for National Geographic. Students in Grade 12 Politics, IB History, and Grade 12 Photography, were also captivated by the images and stories of Mr. Palu’s experiences related to the war in Afghanistan and the Mexican drug war.

Student Vote

On the eve of the Canadian Federal Election, Mr. Wood’s classes conducted a school-wide election simulation in which almost 800 St. Robert students cast a ballot. The purpose was to get students who are unable to vote in the actual election, an opportunity to think about Canadian politics, our democratic process, and experience what it is like to vote.
