As an ESL student, you are entitled to accommodations that support your learning. Even after you complete all the ESL English levels, you still have the right to these supports.
We can use a dictionary provided by our school during quizzes, tests, and exams.
Borrow them from the library (2-day loan).
For quizzes, tests, and exams, you are allowed to have extra time. Specifically, you can get 50% more time than the original limit. For example, if a test is 1 hour, you may receive an additional 30 minutes.
You can also get additional time when doing an assignment by negotiating with your teacher.
ESL students are allowed to use a pre-approved reference sheet during evaluations. A reference sheet is like a “cheat sheet” that includes important vocabulary, definitions, and examples from the course.
🌟 Keep in mind: different teachers may have slightly different rules for what can go on your sheet. Please let your teacher know ahead of time if you need one.
